Sublingual Technology
Sublingual technology refers to the pharmacological route of administration by which drugs diffuse into the blood through tissues under the tongue. Sublingual tablets produce immediate systemic effect by enabling the drug absorbtion directly thorugh oral mucosa.
Absorbtion through oral cavity avoids first pass metabolism and affords quick drug entry into the systemic circulation, therefore there is no API degradation due to the gastrointestinal environment and thus a fast onset of action.
